Engines:

Skytek offers many engine services that are becoming harder to find, especially attention to detail to ensure that your engines are operating to peak efficiency and the best longevity, reliability, and performance possible. Skytek specializes in and has all the proper equipment to set fuel systems on Teledyne Continental Engines, including the Port-a-Test fuel control box recommended in Critical Service Bulletin 97-3B. Skytek also has highly trained personnel to quickly troubleshoot any and all types of operational problems on all normally aspirated or Turbo-supercharged fuel injected engines on Teledyne, Lycoming and Orenda engines. This relates to lower cost of troubleshooting, parts replacement and reduced operating cost. Skytek does not troubleshoot with the "shotgun" approach of just replacing parts to "see if that fixed it". As much as possible, our personnel use proven and exact methods of troubleshooting to ensure accurate analysis and cost effective repairs, replacing only parts found to be defective or at fault. We troubleshoot the simplest and easiest issues first which in many instances proves to be the only problem. This translates into lower cost for our customers.

Repairs:

Skytek also offers total engine repairs from prop strikes, cylinder repair, installation of valve guides, seats, bushings, machining and other services.

Installations:

"ATTENTION" - "According to engine manufacturers, many premature engine problems can be traced back to faulty engine installations, non compliance with fuel system set up, inattention to cooling requirements and sloppy workmanship!!!"

Skytek offers custom installations with optimum attention to detail. At a reasonable cost, Skytek can customize the engine compartment by completely cleaning, etching, painting, baffle replacement and plating to enhance the appearance of your engine compartment. This will not only be astethecally pleasing it will offer additional protection to the engine compartment from the extremely hostile environment your engine nacelle is subjected to from engine heat, oils, fuel, solvents and exhaust.

If you choose a standard engine installation, Skytek will clean, inspect and repair if necessary, the complete nacelle area and install the engine making sure that all baffles, fuel systems and cooling are operating as designed and at optimum performance that ensure the best chance at long engine life and reduced operating cost. Skytek offers engine installations second to none including the highly touted "factory installed" installations at reasonable cost.

Engine Setups:

Skytek offers precision engine setups on Turbo-charged fuel injected Teledyne Continental Engines. We have the expertise of over 35 years experience with these engines and the equipment required to accomplish the job precisely. Many FBO's are learning to take advantage of sending their customers to us for these setups that require the expertise and equipment that they do not have. We specialize in the big bore engines used on Cessna turbocharged model aircraft through the Cessna 421C and easily setup any other engines used on Beechcraft, Piper, Commander or other aircraft.

Engine Accessories:

Skytek offers selective repairs, when cost effective on many accessories such as mags that may require only points, condensers or seal replacement rather than the usual "exchange it" attitude many shops have adapted that cost the customer more when nothing is sacrificed in reliability or safety by replacing required components.

Airframe Services -

Inspection:

Skytek offers inspection services that have become much more than just an "annual". The average age of today's general aviation fleet are requiring much more detailed inspections than when they were originally manufactured. According to most, the average age of the fleet is 35+ years. Today's inspection requirements need to be much more stringent than in years past because of the hours or years that have accumulated on each aircraft. People fly less than in the robust years of general aviation when thousands of aircraft were produced per year and flown regularly. However, this does not always equate to the airworthiness requirements of the aircraft are less, it often requires more because of corrosion, environment, years of poor maintenance or other factors. Skytek can do inspections on any aircraft from jets to cubs with strict adherence to factors that affect airworthiness issues on these aircraft. Our standard inspection form is over 14 pages long and has been approved by the FAA with comments such as "the best we have ever seen" or "the most comprehensive we have seen" and is a living document that is continually improved for the utmost in safety and airworthiness requirements for all aircraft. When an item is discovered that may not be covered by inspection requirements, it is added to the next inspection form to assure the utmost in airworthiness.

Airframe Repairs:

Skytek offers major structural repairs of aircraft damaged in accidents, storms, and many other "incidents" aircraft may be involved in. Insurance companies have repeatedly relied on our business knowing that we stand behind our work and guarantee the customer's satisfaction. Skytek also searches all possible sources for airworthy parts that may be acquired at a cost savings to the customer and provide the quickest return to service for the customer. Skytek can design, fabricate and get approval for many repairs that most shops are hesitant to attempt because of years of experience knowing the special structural requirements for return to service of the aircraft.
